Tag people in Status Updates, Wall Posts, Comments or Text

To tag someone in text in a manner that a link is created to the person's profile, use the @ symbol. eg. If you wish to tag John Jamison in your comment write @ John Jamison without any spelling mistake. If the person is in your friend list, a link in blue will be automatically created to the person's profile and he would be "tagged".

Write Upside Down, In Bubbles or Inverted Mirror

You might have seen many people update their Facebook status saying that "this was the last time they bought a keyboard on eBay "or"they have finally learnt how to update Facebook statuses while doing a "headstand" written upside down.

Here is how you too can flip text like that and add much more cool effects.

Special FB Tricks, Tips and Hack

Almost half of all the sharing that happens online is done on Facebook. This in itself is testament enough that Facebook does the job of connecting people fairly well. However, there are some tips and tricks that can allow you to get more out of Facebook and this article contains a list of some of the best such Facebook tips.

Stop Hackers on Facebook
Are you worried about hackers hacking your Facebook account and posting stuff you don't want them to? Just read the linked post to protect yourself from most basic hacks.

Are you bored with the default blue colored Facebook theme and want to get rid of it? Go change it to something super cool in Firefox.

Facebook Galaxy Theme

Post an Empty/ Blank Status
Are you tired of constantly thinking new and interesting status updates for your Facebook friends? Then, post an empty status and show your friends that you denounce the thinking that if your status isn't cool, you aren't either. Just go to Facebook, hold Alt and press 0, 1, 7 and 3 respectively and click Post. This will post the null character as your status which basically is an empty space. Laptop users can do this after activating the Number Lock.

Subscribe to the RSS feed of your Notifications
Go to Facebook's notifications page and click on the RSS link to find the RSS feed containing all your recent notifications. You can then subscribe to this feed in any desktop based RSS reader to instantly know when a new notification occurs.

Change Facebook's Posted via text
Have you noticed that when you update your Facebook status from a mobile, Facebook adds a "Posted via Mobile" link at the bottom of it? You can change that to say hilarious things like "via Carrier Pigeon" or "via My Bedroom." To do this, just go to PostedVia, choose a delivery
option and update your status or post to a friend's wall. For my example, i'm using the "Air Force One". See the example above.

Know when friends Unfriend you
Facebook notifies you when someone adds you as a friend but Facebook does not notify you when someone unfriends you. If you wish to access this data, you can use Social Fixer Facebook extension, which will not only allow you to do this but a lot more too.

Update Facebook Status from Firefox
FireStatus is a Firefox addon that allows you to instantly update your Facebook status without having the need to visit Facebook again and again.

Use Dynamic Facebook Profile Links to Fool your Friends
This is a funny use of technology to have fun with your friends. Just say some mean things in your status and then include this link This may look like a link to a specific person's Facebook profile but in reality, it redirects users to their own profile. This happens because of the missing 'id' parameter. You can change the numbers to anything you like.

Find Exactly What you are looking for on Facebook
If you ever had trouble finding a friend or a specific post by one of your friend,

you should definitely take a look at the Facebook page on searching. It will help you to get acquainted not only with how Facebook search works but also enable you to get the most out of it.

Access Facebook Chat on Your Desktop
Have you ever wanted to chat with your Facebook friends without opening a web

browser? Desktop based applications like Digsby and ChitChat can allow you to stay connected with all your friends even when you close your web browser. This is much similar to chatting with Yahoo! Messenger or Google Talk chat client.

I think that's all for now.. Ahakk~!!

How to Make Facebook Photos & Posts Private

Do you have private pictures of yourself or your family on Facebook which you don't want the entire world to see? This guide will help you change your Facebook privacy settings to only allow your friends or people you know to see your Facebook photos (and everything else you do). You can even customize the privacy settings of individual albums to share them with a small group of people like your co-workers or relatives.

There are three ways in which you can do this. Either, you can customize each post's or photo's settings individually, or set the preferences for specific albums or use a general setting for all posts and photos you have.

1. Choosing an individual post's or photo's privacy settings

While posting your photo or post, click on the down arrow left to the post button. Select Custom from the drop-down menu. Using the pop-up, select who you wish to make a post visible to. You can select if you wish to show a post to friends, friends of friends or specific people or a specific list of people.

Select Custom Privacy Options

You can even hide a photo from specific people or a list of people. This will be especially useful in situations where you don't want your colleagues to see a certain picture that makes fun of them or something similar. Normally, when someone is tagged in a photo, every friend of that Facebook user gets to know about it. So, if you chose to make a photo visible to friends and someone is tagged in that picture, all their friends will see that image. To prevent this, uncheck the Friends of those tagged checkmark.

2. Limiting the Audience for an entire album

This is much similar to setting the audience for an individual picture. Just go to your albums, click on the down arrow on the bottom right of the album whose privacy settings you wish to customize. Then select custom the from the drop down menu. The options Facebook offers are almost the same as those for an individual photo, however there is one difference.

All those people who are tagged and their friends would still be able to see the photos in your album. To prevent this, you will have to change the privacy settings of each individual photo.

3. Making all your Photos and Posts Private

This is the permanent solution against worrying about your Facebook content. However, it doesn't offer much customization options and should only be used if you are sure how you will use Facebook. This is a 2 step process and involves customizing the audience for your past posts as well as those you will make in future.

Step 1: Limiting Past Posts & Photos
Go to your Privacy Settings, and go to "Manage Past Post Visibility". In the pop-up, click Limit Old posts. This is a permanent change and cannot be undone. However, all those tagged and their friends would still be able to see your posts. To prevent this, you will have to change each post's individual settings.

Step 2: Limiting Future Posts and Photos

While in the privacy center, encircle custom under "Control Your Default Privacy". This will open a pop-up. In the pop-up, make sure to select friends if you only wish to share content with your friends. You can however, change this according to your needs but for most people, friends would be the best option. Also, uncheck the Friends of those tagged if you wish to further enhance your Facebook privacy. This will customize your Facebook settings to show your Facebook activity only to your friends and those tagged.

You can also select who gets tagged in your content to further prevent your content from unwanted eyes. To do this, go to your Privacy Settings from the down arrow located at the top right of the blue Facebook bar. Then, click Edit Settings located next to "How Tags Works". In the pop-up, select 'On' for 'Tag Reviews of tags that friends add to your posts'.

Facebook's privacy settings take some time to adjust but once you are done, you will never have to worry about your content ending up in front of unwanted users.

Facebook Disadvantages

LOL!! What am I doing? I'm blogging about facebook, but then, I made up this kind of title. Forget 'bout it!! I will post it!! This is very important!! Hehehe..

"Facebook Influenceza" of today's students increasingly feltly. Although many students are not aware of the negative impact of facebook, maybe because his/her name was addicted to facebook. Just imagine, student keep on surfing (Facebook Wall Walking) in Cyber Cafe, till then, missed the courses/classes. What the ****?!!

Here are some of the negative impact of facebook for college students.

1. Reduced Learning Time
It looks at all to play facebook will reduce the time to learn students imagine a day in the cafe just plug the status, comments or just chat as acquaintances.

2. Wasting Money
Accessing facebook obviously effect on student finance. Dont believe me? Right, imagine if facebooking at cyber cafe to 2 - 5 hours when multiplied by days, doesnt it wasting time and money? And the cost of internet in KL tend to be expensive compared to others.

3. Personal Data Spread
Some Facebookers provide data about himself in details. They do not know the risk of spreading personal information on facebook. It is very dangerous.

4. Forgotten Assignment
This is very visible at all if day-to-day are in priority only on facebook so assignment of course given by lecturers had been forgotten. They just put the status of "Dizzy many tasks" how to not only put his status dizzy or comments that are not useful.

5. Health
Too much sitting in front of the monitor without doing any activity, with no exercise is risk for health. Disease will be easy to come. Late irregular eating and sleeping. Obesity (overweight), stomach diseases (gastrointestinal), and eye diseases are health problems most likely to occur.

6. Wasting Time
This is very obvious. Just same like "Wasting Money". Just imagine if its just sitting front of the monitor for hours every day just chatting, pairs of status, or just playing game like Poker, doesnt give any benefit the students.

7. Prone to the occurrence of Fraud
Other online media such as Friendster/Myspace/etc are also vulnerable to fraud. Often times we hear the news that criminals are still in touch with social network such as Facebook.

So... What is my objective on doing this blog? To make you be more addicted to facebook? NOPE! It depends on you. I'm only giving you the trick, on how to make something, that i've explored, and I'm happy to share with you.. :)

It cant be deny that it is fun to interact with family and friends in social networks and keep everyone in touch. But it’s kind of annoying to login 2 social network accounts every day (or hour) which they’re quite similar to each other. Yes, you’re right. We’re talking about Facebook and Google+ here.

We believe there're always pros and cons for each of them. If you’re don’t wish to waste your time to login both social networks account, we have a solution for you to add and see Facebook stream inside your Google+ account.

The download will be in .zip file containing all of your profile pictures, wall posts and videos.
Your messages, friend list, photos, events, likes ( and almost everything you have ever uploaded on Facebook )also will be included in the downloaded zip file. Upon unzipping the downloaded zip file, you will find a simple HTML file of your profile with offline links to the above stated things.

Dont worry guys.. Facebook has its own additional security for every single thing that they do/did.

Anyway, before the download submission, you have to enter your security question and confirmed your password. Although this will be a good feature, Facebook will offer no way to re-import this information from your hard drive to your account or to a new account, if you wish to take a little break from Facebook.

How to Add the Facebook "Like" Button to Blogger or Wordpress

Facebook is currently the largest social media network on the Internet. Odds are your readers have a profile and can immediately start sharing your content with their friends and family. So, how can you get your readers to sing your praises without begging them to do so? Simple. Install the Facebook “Like” button on your blog.

When visitors to your blog click the "Like" button on your post, they share your content on their Facebook wall—instant advertising. You want more readers, more site traffic, and more exposure? This is a great way to do it.

Thankfully, Facebook has made adding the "Like" button to a webpage incredibly user friendly. You don’t need to be coding guru to install this!

For Blogger Users

  1. Open your blog's dashboard.
  2. Click on Template.
  3. Click on Edit HTML.
  4. Click on Proceed when a warning telling you that "Directly editing HTML may affect the way some features work and is only recommended for advanced users." is displayed.
  5. Check Expand Widget Templates.
  6. Find this code using your browser's find function ""
  7. Copy and paste the code given below right after it.

  8. Click on Save Template.

For Wordpress

The three ways to add the Facebook “Like” button to your blog are:
1. Going directly to Facebook
2. Using a plugin
3. Manual coding

Going Directly to Facebook

Facebook has its own tool for creating a Like button using Extended Facebook Markup Language (XFBML). The Like button creation page can be found at Facebook's Developers page.

  1. XFBML was developed to work specifically with Facebook so it has some great bells and whistles, including real-time reports on when users click the Like button and providing users with the ability to add comments when clicking the button.
  2. The knowledge that your code will be correct.

Using a Wordpress Plugin

Wordpress Plugins are strings of code that have been created to expand the functionality of the software application. You can choose from hundreds of different WordPress plugins to add a Facebook Like button to your blog. The best approach is to review the documentation and user ratings of a plugin before adding it to your blog. However, keep in mind that a 3rd party plugin may limit the customization you can apply to the appearance and location of the Like button on your site. One such plugin can be found here.

  1. Don’t have to deal with code at all.
  2. Depending on the plugin you choose, the Like button could be bundled with a number of other social buttons, minimizing the amount of time and effort you have to put into tracking down buttons for each service you want to connect to.

Manual Coding

If you have experience with PHP code editing, you can manually add the Facebook Like button to your WordPress blog. If you don’t know how to enter code but would like to learn how, WPBeginner has an excellent tutorial.

Offers the most control and customization of how buttons/social information displays.

All bloggers should consider installing the Facebook Like button on their blog. It doesn’t take any longer than 20 minutes to install, and it provides a quick and easy way for your readers to share your content.

Enjoy it guys!!

Change Facebook Theme Color, Appearance, Skin, Style or Template

Facebook is a social networking site which enables people to connect with friends and people around. That's how Facebook is usually introduced but Facebook is beyond the requirement of being introduced as almost everyone is on it. But Facebook has one flaw, the default blue theme is really boring.

Some even consider it an annoyance while visiting Facebook. As Facebook does not allow users to change its theme like MySpace used to, users are left with no other option but to bear the theme Facebook wants them to use.

However, it is relatively easy to change the Facebook theme to a stylish one using a Firefox addon and custom themes which are available free of cost on the internet.

An example of the final outcome would be something like in the image.

Requirement: The basic requirement for this to work is to have Mozilla Firefox 3.5 or higher.

Steps to achieve this: The following steps should be carried out to successfully change Facebook theme.

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox and install 'Stylish' addon.
  2. Follow the basic steps to install the addon.
  3. Restart Firefox after successfully installing the Stylish addon.
  4. Login to your Facebook Account and click on the small 'S' button in your Firefox status bar.
  5. Click on "Find Styles for this Site" to open a new tab with free themes to use for Facebook.
  6. Click on any theme and a preview will be shown.
  7. If everything is fine in the previewed theme, click on "Install with Stylish" button at the top right corner of the page.
  8. A dialog box will open.
  9. Click on Install in the dialog box.

Now whenever you open Facebook, it will show the theme that you have installed with Stylish instead of the boring old blue theme.

Enjoys it guys!!
